Inclusion Design

For this assignment the topic for our piece was to create something that had to do with a community. So, I chose to design two hands holding up a community. I thought the hands holding up the community and people was a good idea because I thought it kind of resembled being together and having each others back. To me, it was a creative idea and I thought I could make a good piece out of it.

To begin with, I grabbed a piece of drawing paper to sketch out the different ideas that I had. After I had figured out exactly what I wanted the design in the hands to be, I got water color paper and drew the hands. I'm not very good at drawing hands so it took up most of my time. However once I was done drawing the hands I drew the designs inside the hands that I wanted the community to look like. For my materials, I wanted to use watercolor and possibly fine point pen to draw the people. I started off by getting my watercolor paper and then I began to sketch the hands one the paper with pencil. Anyway, after I finished drawing everything out, I went in with watercolor for my piece. To finish off, I outline the things necessary in fine point pen like the hands.

Overall I am mostly proud of the way the hands turned out on my artwork because I feel like I tried my best to make them realistic. However, the project itself was not my favorite because I felt like my creative ideas were limited since we had to draw something specific although it was a fun experience with this kind of prompt.
