Anxiety

For my last sustained investigation, SI #15 I decided to switch up my material usage and even play with a little bit more style. For this sustained investigation, I used magazines that I had in my home to create a portrait-like painting to show anxiety and what comes with it and portray emotion.

The process of this work had a lot of inspiration, I was inspired by a bell ringer to use more of a collage style and bring paper into my work. I started by searching for magazines through my house that would have colors that reminded me of anxiety, and I somehow ended up finding the perfect page with the different colors of the pills. I really liked the way it had looked so I decided to play with negative space and use black acrylic and watercolor paint to create the negative space and still be able to show the magazine.

Overall, I think the idea behind this was also a reflection of how I was feeling at the time and it allowed me to create something I really liked and that is somewhat different than my normal pieces
