Drawing Together #2

"3.5 X 6"

Keep Your Distance

Acrylic Paint and Colored Pencil

For my second drawing together assignment, I wanted to create something that reminded me of the very few times I've had to leave the house during these times.

I started off with going of the photo reference with a pencil sketch and then when I started blending I realized I haven't used that material in a while and I want to get better at it especially when layering the colored pencil. The materials I used are colored pencils and acrylic paint. My ideas are visually evident in this piece because it shows the new reality of the world by showing the importance of masks and the space between people. In addition to that, I thought the text with the distanced lines kind of put it together. I also like the idea of the characters with their hands in their pockets and crossed sort of like hidden and untouched.

Lastly, however, I am not completely satisfied with the way my art came out. I felt sort of stuck on what to make especially since I have been in my house for a long period of time. I've always found it difficult to use colored pencil with my artwork but I think if you can get comfortable with it, it can turn out really nicely.
