Recently, a Chinese spy balloon and other aircraft have started to appear over North America. A Chinese spy balloon was shot down off the coast of South Carolina on February 4th. The balloon was flying 60,000 feet in the air, much higher than the level of usual air traffic, and was carrying a payload the size of three buses! Three other suspected spy aircraft were taken down later that week over Alaska, Canada, and Lake Huron, according to HuffPost. These spycraft were flying much lower, only about 30,000 feet in the air, and were carrying much less. China hasn’t claimed ownership of any of these spycraft, nor has any other country. We still don’t know the information China has been able to collect, but we suspect that they were trying to eavesdrop on electronic communications in North America.
On Valentine’s Day, two astrophotographers, Antoine and Dalia Grelin, captured a stunning image of a rare green comet in Utah. Why is this green comet so spectacular? Well, this is a once-in-a-lifetime comet that isn’t expected to fly through our solar system for at least another 50,000 years!
