Here at Lakeside, sports have changed the way of many students. From our youngest (5th grade) to our oldest (12th grade), there are many great sports to support the hundreds of students who come to this great and supportive school. Check out the chart above to see the different percentages of different sports that 59 people here at Lakeside enjoy.
Many different choices are presented here, such as soccer, football, volleyball, and cross country. Each of these sports has many great aspects. I have interviewed some people here at our school who have shared what sports they played, their feelings about them, and some benefits that they bring them. Today's people are Mason from 5th grade, Zane from 6th grade, and Gadsden from 7th grade.
Without further ado, here is our first candidate, Mason. He is in 5th grade and has played soccer and basketball. I asked him, “What is good about these sports?” Here is a first-hand account of what he said. For soccer, he said it was interesting and fun because he has already played soccer, so it was a great experience playing along with fellow peers. For basketball, he said it is very exciting and it is something that he wants to continue.
Next up is Zane from 6th grade, who has played soccer here at Lakeside. He says he feels happy playing, excited for the games, and excited for the practices. I truly agree with what he says. There are so many great aspects of Lakeside Sports; I’m sure it will be fun for you, too.
Finally, we have Gadsden, who has played soccer and basketball. He describes it as very exciting. He said he bonded with a lot of kids and that he could relax in an environment that was safe and trustworthy. Adding onto our fellow Lakesider’s words, I agree with everything he’s said. It’s fun, you’ll make lots of friends, and it gives you a chance to work with kids from different age groups. What’s not to like? As a 5th grader here at Lakeside who plays , I know that sports will bring you closer to your peers and teachers.
All these people have told you about their experiences with the wide variety of sports here at this school of rigorous teaching and sports. With 25 varsity teams, most of which have sub-varsity teams, and many middle school programs, you will be playing a sport that you enjoy and feel comfortable doing very soon. As over 80% of students play sports, I am proud to say that our students love participating in our sports.
