Sudoku:
Instructions: Fill in this puzzle with the digits 1-9 inclusive. Each row, column and 3x3 box in bold must have exactly one of all nine digits.
Spelling Bee
Instructions: Create words using the seven letters in this puzzle. You must use the middle letter at least once in your word. Words must have at least four letters.
Scoring guide:
Each 4-letter word = 1 point
Any longer words are worth the same number of letters as points. A 5-letter word would be worth 5 points, an 8-letter word would be 8 points, etc.
If you find a pangram (all of the letters in one word), give yourself 7 extra points.
50 or more points = good start, 70 or more points = amazing, and 100 or more points = genius.
Connections
Instructions: Create four groups of four words each using the words in this puzzle. Each group will be linked by a category like “famous brands” or “fruits.” Special thanks to Mila in 7th grade for helping me test out this puzzle!
Strands
Instructions: Connect letters to create words or phrases. Words can go in any direction and don’t have to be in straight lines. There might be multiple ways to make a word or phrase, but there is only one solution.
A “spangram” will state the category more concisely and go all the way across the puzzle.
