The James Webb Telescope, humanity’s largest telescope, was a project to replace the Hubble Space Telescope as our giant floating camera for the cosmos. Despite being just launched on the Christmas of 2021, it has already taken hundreds, if not thousands, of photos. Snapping nebulas, pulsars, galaxies, and even exoplanets, it hasn’t just provided scientists with useful research data, but also stunning stellar shots for the general public to use! Sadly though, the telescope may be retiring in roughly a decade from a lack of fuel, but it can still provide us with some final futuristic photos as its lifespan draws to an end.
