1971, June 21 - during the archeological research of the Tovsta Mohyla mound in Dnipropetrovsk region, a unique find was made. In the afternoon, researchers of the Scythian mound came across a gold pectoral - a breastplate of the Scythian king of the IV century BC. Boris Mozolevsky was the leader of the expedition.

"Numerous gold ornaments were found in two burial chambers, including a pectoral. She, along with an iron sword in gold scabbards, was found in a short corridor connecting one of the burial chambers with the entrance pit.

Jewelry weight - 1150 g, diameter - 30.6 cm, made of 958 gold. Manufacturing techniques: casting on a lost wax model, stamping, engraving, filigree, soldering, inlay with colored enamels.

The pectoral was made by Greek Torevts to order of the Scythian nobility as a diplomatic gift in the second quarter of the IV century BC. BC in the jewelry workshops of Athens or Pantikapaion.
