Unique museum exhibits included in the world treasury of archeology will be presented at the exhibition "Ancient Gold of the Kuban and the Black Sea Region", which will open on Wednesday as part of the Cultural Olympiad in Sochi, the resort administration reports.

The exhibition will open in the halls of the museum of the history of the resort city of Sochi. It was created from the funds of the Krasnodar State Historical and Archaeological Museum-Reserve named after E.D. Felitsyn and the Museum of the history of the resort town of Sochi. Genuine, unique items of museum significance are the historical and cultural heritage of the Russian Federation, included in the world treasury of archeology.

"The exhibition will feature art items made of precious metals from ancient eras from the 3rd millennium BC to the 3rd century AD. These items were found during excavations of ancient burial mounds in the Kuban, as well as in accidentally discovered burials from the vicinity of Sochi. Many of them are striking examples of high art, are unique in their artistic and historical significance, others are mass handicraft products, "the message says.

A significant part of the products is women's gold jewelry, bottles for incense, a needle case, rings with a gem, over 200 gold pendants, sewn on brooches, and brooches.

For the first time, finds will be exhibited, discovered during the period of archaeological excavations in the area of ​​construction of Olympic facilities.
