Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts

Today, the exposition of ancient art occupies the entire left wing of the first floor of the Museum. The Egyptian (No. 1) and Assyrian (No. 2, now the Art of the Ancient Near East) halls, renovated in 2012 for the 100th anniversary of the Museum, remained in the spaces that were originally assigned to them. Another room (No. 6) introduces the art of Ancient Egypt of the Greco-Roman period, including the famous Fayum portraits; a small part of the collection of Coptic fabrics is also exhibited here.

8 halls on the first and second floors of the Main Building are dedicated to antique art. These are historical halls of casts, such as the Greek Courtyard or the Roman Hall, as well as an exposition of originals received by the Museum at different times. A special room (No. 3) is devoted to monuments from the collection of Heinrich Schliemann - the so-called "Gold of Troy". Hidden in the Museum since 1945, they were first shown to the general public at a special exhibition in 1996, and since 1997 have been exhibited in the same room with genuine monuments of ancient art. In December 2007, a new exhibition was opened, which includes works of the main artistic regions and centers of the ancient Mediterranean: Cyprus, Ancient Greece, Etruria, Ancient Rome (room No. 4). At the same time, a hall appeared, the exposition of which was for the first time entirely built on materials found by expeditions of the Pushkin Museum. A.S.

The base of the bracelet is formed by a wide plate, framed by soldered wire rims, onto which the unevenly forged edges of the plate are bent. The entire surface of the bracelet is decorated with an ornament in the form of two rows of spectacle-like spirals, also made of fine wire. Ornamental spiral blocks are interrupted by a row of three vertically arranged hollow hemispherical plaques with flat notched rims. The character of the decor in the form of double spirals brings this bracelet with a pin with a plate at the end topped with six miniature amophrisk vessels from the "Treasure O"

The bracelet comes from "Clade F", in which other gold jewelry was also found

A scaphoid goblet with two flattened plums and two handles comes from the so-called. "Clade A". The body of the goblet is forged according to a template (probably wooden) of sheet gold; traces of tools used in forging are clearly visible inside; outside, the surface is carefully smoothed. The loop handles are also made of sheets of gold rolled into hollow curved tubes. Their outer sides are decorated with longitudinal softly modeled ribs. The handles expand towards the ends, forming attachment plates, with which they are soldered to the vessel body
