Hryvnia, gold, casting. Dimensions: 15.4x16.6 cm, height of figures - 1.8 cm. Found in mound 4 of the Filippovsky burial ground, burial 4, on a woman's neck.

The hryvnia is all-metal, made of a cast gold bar with a corrugated surface. The figures of the lying lions are voluminous, their front legs are bent under the chest, and their hind legs are extended. The heads are turned to the left, perpendicular to the axis of the body and framed by a short mane. The lions' mouths are half open, and their eyes are bulging. The ribs are shown with a herringbone. The size of the hryvnia is about 15 by 16 cm. The weight is about 400 g. This is 958 sample gold.

In the Old Slavonic language, the word gryvna meant a necklace or bracelet, hence the second meaning of the word - the monetary and weight unit of the ancient Russian and neighboring lands.

Under the order of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Museum hosted the opening of a unique international exhibition of original artifacts "Scythian Gold"

The exhibition presents the best artifacts of Scythian culture (VII-II centuries BC) from the collection of the Orenburg Governor's Historical and Local History Museum, the National Museum of Kazakhstan, as well as unique finds from the collection of the famous Kazakh restorer Krym Altynbekov.

"National Museum of Kazakhstan is hosting a unique exhibition named the 'Gold of the Scyths' that unveils the history of the ancient nomads. The exposition consists of over 200 best artifacts of Scythian culture dated back to the 7th-2nd centuries BC, including exhibits from the collection of the National, Orenburg Governor's Museum and unique finds from the collection of famous Kazakh restorer Krym Altynbekov. The exhibition gives an opportunity to see objects of decorative and applied art unique in their beauty and technique."

Orenburg Governor’s Local Lore and History Museum is one of the oldest museums in Russia. Founded on November 24, 1830 by the decree of Orenburg Military Governor Count P.P. Sukhtelen, the museum is today a regional cultural and scientific center and keeper of historical and cultural heritage.
