Gold Treasury

The Gold Treasury displays the objects made of precious metals, as well as coins and medals. Its fine collection of the ancient jewellery, which took over 100 years to create, holds more than 800 objects dated between III millennium B.C. and XII-XIII centuries A.D. Some of the objects had been donated to the museum, others were purchased or found in the archaeological excavations. Silver and gold jewellery made by ancient artisans are on the display. One of the key highlights of the collection is a golden two-handled bowl dated between XV and XIII centuries B.C.

The other highlight of the Treasury is a Zlatnik - a gold coin issued by the Prince Vladimir. It is one of only 11 coins remaining from that period.
