Bolgar State Historical and Architectural Museum-Reserve

Jewelers had a special status among Bulgarian artisans. Jewelry workshops were usually located in the Central part of the city, closer to the rich customer and potential consumer. Products of gold and silversmiths were in great demand and were famous even outside the state.

The Bulgarian masters knew the most complex techniques of processing precious metals. They had, for example, the technique of filigree (filigree) and granulation.

The product range of Bulgarian jewelers is very extensive.

Women's favorite jewelry was plaited and plate bracelets, moon earrings with false grain design of the front side, rings and temple pendants made of copper, silver and gold.

A special place in the collection "archeology" of the Bulgarian Museum-reserve is occupied by jewelry. Many of which were found as part of the treasures, such as:" Kozhaevsky"," Kominternovsky " and others.

Figurines of waterfowl, multi-turn bracelets and hryvnia, and other works of jewelry art still amaze with their sophistication.
