The Data Source feature in Backpack is a key tool for dynamically updating account information across your entire portfolio. Instead of having to set up multiple account-level polling sources, you can use just one data source.
In This Article:
Go to Settings & Tools (gear icon) in the top-right of your Backpack window.
Select Data Sources from the dropdown.
Account Data Set Templates are handy when you want many accounts to use one data source. This way, you don't have to set up a separate polling source for each account.
Click Settings & Tools (gear icon) in the top-right of your Backpack window.
Select Data Sources from the dropdown.
Under "Account Data Set Template," click + Template.
Enter a Name.
Add an Endpoint. Paste the URL link to the data source that has been published to the web. The URL protocol (e.g., gdrive://, https://) will update automatically.
Double-check the URL. Next to Rendered URL, make sure the URL does not have a double protocol (e.g., https://https://).
Under "Select Account Segment," change from the default "All Accounts" if you want the data source to be used by just some accounts.
Add any relevant data filters.
(Optional) Choose a Frequency. The default refresh is every 24 hours.
(Optional) Select the number of hours for Stale Data Threshold. This detects when your data has not changed after a set number of hours and alerts you via a Stale Data Alert Notification.
(Optional) Toggle on Extract Media. Turn this on if you're pulling images off of Google Drive, etc.
Global data sets can be used when you have a source that contains data that may be applicable to all accounts within a Customer. Data contained within Global Data Sets won't necessarily need to be mapped to specific accounts.
Click Settings & Tools (gear icon) in the top-right of your Backpack window.
Select Data Sources from the dropdown.
Under "Global Data Sets," click + Data Set.
Enter a Name.
Add an Endpoint. Paste the URL to the data source that has been published to the web. The URL protocol (e.g., gdrive://, https://) will update automatically.
Double-check the URL. Next to Rendered URL, make sure the URL does not have a double protocol (e.g., https://https://).
