Google's optimization score feature allows you to assess your campaigns' performance and make enhancements based on Google's suggestions. Our research shows that boosting your Google optimization score by at least 10 points can cut your cost per conversion by 12.7% and increase total conversions by 10.3%. This data comes from Google's API feed, which is generated by AI and ranges from 1% to 100%.
Optimization scores are available for both accounts and campaigns in Backpack. Follow these steps to locate them:
Go to Manage in the top menu.
Click on an account in the list—and, optionally, a campaign.
In the account or campaign table, find the Optimization Score column. Note: If the column isn't visible, you can include it by editing the columns.
To access suggestions for enhancing optimization scores, hover over an optimization score with your cursor and click the up arrow on its left. You can then decide to apply or dismiss each of Google's recommendations:
Accept: Implement the recommendation in Backpack and dismiss it at the partner level.
Mitigate: Document the recommendation, integrate it into existing Backpack suggestions and notifications, and dismiss it at the partner level.
Dismiss: Dismiss the recommendation at the partner level.
Recommendations are based on settings, performance history, and trends. Applying them will help optimize your campaigns and improve an account's overall health score.
Note: The same recommendations can be located in the Recommendation Policies area in Backpack. Each recommendation is categorized accordingly for easy reference.
