To use Google vehicle ads, location extensions, and local campaigns with Backpack, you need to connect a Backpack account to a verified Google My Business (GMB) profile. Here are the benefits:
Automatic detection of GMB changes. If you make changes to your GMB profile, Backpack will auto-detect them each night. For faster updates, just click the "Refresh Config Data" button.
Easy location extension creation. Connecting a GMB profile will create a location extension in your Google Ads account for all campaigns.
If you haven't already done so, create a GMB business profile for each location. Customer or account admins can create profiles on the Google Business Profile Manager website. Tip: To streamline management, consider creating a single Google Business Profile Manager to link and manage multiple GMB profiles.
Grant Backpack access to GMB account(s) by following the Google My Business OAuth flow. Note: Make sure to sign in to Google as a user with admin access to the relevant GMB profiles or Profile Manager.
Link the GMB profile(s) to the appropriate Backpack account(s):
Verify the GMB profiles, if needed. Do this if you see Unverified in the account's settings and notifications under System Info & Alerts > Linked Accounts. Click the Backpack link to the GMB businesses page and follow the steps to verify and claim a business.
