Location targeting allows you to specify where you want your ads to be displayed. This helps you focus your advertising efforts and reach the right customers for your business. You can also choose to exclude certain locations from your campaigns, ensuring your ads won't appear in those regions.
In This Article:
Go to Manage in the top menu in Backpack.
Select an account from the list on the left.
Click the Campaigns tab and select a campaign.
Click Campaign Settings toward the right of the screen.
Select the Locations tab within Campaign Settings.
Select Locations under "Campaign Location Settings" to specify zip codes, towns, etc. Enter a location in the field to Target or Exclude.
Select Radius under "Campaign Location Settings" to create a radius around a specific point on the map. Set the radius in miles or kilometers, and click a location on the map to set the center of the circle.
(Optional) Click + Add in Bulk to add multiple zip codes or towns at once (one location per line).Â
Click Save to finish.
Note: The name of the targeting type needs to match the format that Google uses (e.g., Burlington, Vermont should be added as "Burlington,Vermont,United States" with so spaces between the words).
In addition to manual adjustments, consider two more time-saving tools for location targeting:
Targeting suggestions. Get geo targeting suggestions based on your business address (though that can be edited as needed to fine-tune your targeting).
Targeting from other campaigns. Quickly duplicate and apply settings from existing campaigns. Simply click on one of the suggestions to add its locations to your list. Note: If you prefer to replicate targeting from an existing campaign, you can use the Settings Replicator.
