Synchro Ski
Goal
Poling is smooth and rhythmic. Tempo is adjusted according to resistance (slope/snow conditions) to maintain forward momentum. Both legs and arms contribute to propulsion.
Helps when a skier rushes to compensate for lack of balance. Helps when a skier has trouble coordinating arm and leg movements.
Details
Ski behind the instructor or another skier with good coordination and try to follow their tempo. Try to match the timing of their pole plant.
Variation: Have skiers copy the instructor's movements while everyone is standing in place. This will help skiers get a feel for the movement sequence. Then put it into motion.
