Looking for a Friend

Goal

Ankle, knee, hip and torso align to balance over a flat ski. Leg force is generated by flexing all joints, followed by a quick extension that projects the COM forward and across onto the other ski.

Helps when a skier has trouble stepping onto a gliding ski. Weight/COM stays in the middle. Or skier does not fully extend onto the gliding ski.

Details

Imagine that you are in a line and looking ahead for a friend. At the end of each skate push, stand up as tall and long as possible to see over the crowd directly ahead of you (the lead hand swings up to your eyebrow as you search -- no poles).
