Obstacles
Goal
The skier must move their COM over the glide foot in order to lift the ski.
Helps when a skier is challenged balancing on one gliding ski.
Details
On flat terrain, set obstacles in the tracks at intervals (cone, twig, mitt). Skier Double Poles or Diagonal Strides along the track, transferring weight to lift one foot over each obstacle as they glide by. Progress to doing this down a shallow slope.
Note: If just working on getting in and out of tracks, on flat terrain, place an obstacle over both tracks. Have skier step out of the tracks, ski past the obstacle, and return to the track.
