Stationary Half Wedge

Goal

Skier balances on one ski. They lift the other out of track and rotate the ski to form a half wedge. They move the COM toward the wedged ski to apply pressure and grip the snow.

Helps when a skier is challenged balancing in one moving ski in order to lift the other out of the track.

Details

Stationary in a track, standing in an athletic stance, have the skier lift one ski, rotate it in the air to form a Half Braking Wedge and put it down outside the track.

Progression: practice stationary, then while moving on the flat (Double Pole to Half Braking Wedge), apply braking power, then graduate to steeper terrain.
