Countdown
Goal
Tempo, effort, and range of motion can be adjusted to resistance (slope/snow conditions) to maintain forward momentum.
Helps when a skier needs to chose when to adjust effort, tempo, or range of motion to maintian momentum and manage effort/fatigue.
Details
Use less strides over multiple attempts over a given distance.
Skiers self-assess their propulsion on different terrain at different speeds. Ask them to count the number of strides or skate pushes between point A and point B. Play with effort, tempo, and range of motion to determine efficiency.
Vary the task by asking them to reduce the number of strides for the same distance. Did they choose to change tempo? Range of motion? Effort?
