March with a Pause

Goal

Ankle, knee, hip and torso align to the inside edge of the ski (front view). At the feet-together position the COM is ahead of the ankle joint

Helps when a skier has trouble balancing on one ski, keeps COM in the middle, or too far forward or back during herringbone.

Details

While herringboning up a slope, have skiers pause at the end of each step to enable time to align body parts over the inside edge of one ski. Make the next step and pause again. Repeat pausing after each step until skiers show correct alignment, then slowly remove the pause to perform a rhythmical herringbone movement.
