Have a safety plan!
Be familiar with the ski area safety plan. If working on your own, make a plan and follow it.
Bring skiers back to where the lesson started.
Be familiar with an incident report and how to fill it out.
Do skiers have the correct gear for the lesson? E.g. Skate skis for skate lessons, correct length of poles, boots that match the ski binding etc.
If using waxable skis, are they waxed correctly for the conditions? Do you have extra wax/cork/scraper?
Are skiers dressed appropriately for the conditions? Do you/they have extra hats/mitts/neck tubes/hand warmers just in case?
Do any skiers have challenges (physical or otherwise) that you need to consider? Invite them to tell you privately.
Do skiers have snacks/water as appropriate? Bring extra with you.
