Braquage

Goal

The skier coordinates the joints of the lower body to create the change of direction and manage pressure.

Helps when a skier needs to be centred over forefoot or better manage edge control and pressure.

Details

This is an advanced task.

While skiing straight down the fall line, the skier extends quickly, allowing the skis to pivot. Skier pivots 90° and side slips using flexion of the lower body to control the edge angle and grip. The skier then extends again to release the edge, pivots 180° to side slip in the other direction. The skier should travel straight down the fall line, with little movement across the slope.
