Ankle-to-instep Touch

Goal

Ankle, knee, hip and torso align to balance over flat ski. Recovery foot becomes weighted in front of other foot.

Helps when a skier keeps their COM between their feet with their feet apart. Or, they have trouble balancing on one ski.

Details

While balanced on the glide leg the skier brings the recovery foot in to brush the glide foot (do not pause). This drill assists the skier in maintaining their COM over their BOS (glide foot) for longer.

Progression: For a more advanced skier the toe of the recovery foot returns to the heel of the glide foot. This assists in keeping the COM forward. Once the skier feels this balance, they will no longer need to use the 'brush'.
