Speed Skater vs. Nobleman

Goal

Leg force is generated by flexing all joints, followed by a quick extension that projects the COM forward and across onto the other ski. Ankle, knee, hip and torso align to balance over flat ski.

Helps when a skier is too stiff in legs while skating, and needs to feel a greater range of motion.

Details

Have the skiers experience the contrast between a speed skater (going uphill) who remains bent at the waist, and an English nobleman (slight downhill) walking home from church straight and tall.
