Season Summary
This year's Track & Field season was incredibly special and memorable. Not only was it the biggest team in history (with 41 members), but also the first year for the team to bring home 2nd place for both boys and girls (and our first traveling plaques) in the same year. Not only that, there were many school records broken by underclassmen that show promising potential for the future growth of the team. The team also had athletes try new events such as the triple jump and hammer throw at ACSC, as well as the 110m hurdles in KAIAC, expanding our competitiveness in events. Along with that, despite the smaller and less developed facilities for a track & field program, the team placed well in the field events, including having two athletes qualify for Far East in the high jump. Despite the season records and statistics, it was a great growing year for our younger athletes and captains. The coaches loved seeing the large and inexperienced team (with freshmen as the largest class), that was intimidating to manage and plan practices for at the beginning of the season, grow into a family of self-disciplined, and self-motivated athletes with unique goals to their specific events. The team is thankful for all that they accomplished this season and look forward to growing in skill, speed, and character in the future.
