Season Summary
The 2018-2019 Varsity Girls Basketball Season had a lot to offer and had many ups and downs. With the graduation of Soo Lee and Andre Lee the team was lacking ball handling, outside shooting, and leadership. But those gaps caused others to fill in and girls grew because of the opportunity. The future seems much brighter. With conference wins only over Osan (2) and TCIS (1) the Lady Guardians went to the Plate Tournament and came out finishing 4th, after a tough last minute loss to TCIS. Rachael Ko was a consistent force down low, being the most skilled of any post player in the league and having to battle the tallest lineups in recent KAIAC memory. Memorable moments of the season are comeback victories over Osan and a dominating early win over TCIS. YISS was a clear force in their non conference schedule over Red divisions teams (3-1). Rachael Ko had one game with 20 rebounds and multiple double doubles. Ashley Cho was voted into the All-Tournament Team in the KAIAC Plate Tourney and the team finished with a win over Considering the Lily at ACSC hosted by Faith Academy. All varsity players also scored for the season.
