Season Summary
It was a busy season for YISS Varsity Girl's Tennis. The players showed great strength and skill while continuously improving throughout the season, bringing them to a 11-4 (7-3) record, putting them in second place in the conference. At the KAIAC tournament, the YISS ladies took 3rd place. The girls headed to the Far East tournament in Okinawa with the top four ladies, Yejoo Kang, Andre Lee, Allison Park, and Annie Nam, finishing second combined overall, and the ladies again taking 3rd place. The ladies worked to sharpen their skills during the season, but even more notably, they worked on mental toughness and stamina. They earned a reputation as strong competitors with great attitudes. Yejoo Kang battled all year at the number one spot, taking on tough opponents. Andre Lee moved from 3rd singles to 2nd singles, as she continued to improve. Allison Park pulled out the best record on the team at 8-2. The doubles ladies, Rachel Kim, Stephanie Ko, Sunny Lee, and Annie Nam showed great flexibility and stamina as their pairings switched up a bit during the season to find the best fit. Alternates Lynn Park and Irene Lee were always ready to step up and play when asked. Lastly, the manager Joanna Lee had a great attitude and supported the team to victory.
