Season Summary
2004 was the first year of tennis at ICS-S. It was also the first year that Coach Daniel Hale was at the school. Coach Hale was asked by then athletic director Ben Hale to start a tennis program that would compete in KAIAC. This year, ICS-S was the only KAIAC division II school to have a tennis team. While it was the first time for many of the boys to play competitive tennis, they gave themselves a good showing for a new team. The boys’ team record the first year was 5-9, good enough for 5th place (out of eight) in the league, beating Pusan American School and Osan American School. The team was led by captain Daniel Park, and included 7th grader Ryan Park, who became the #1 seed his first year, 8th graders Charles Lee and Andrew Lee, and freshmen Nic Chaudet and Minho Seo. The most significant victory was Ryan Park’s win over the TCIS senior #1 seed as a 7th grader.
