Season Summary
With a record of 10-4, this was the first year the YISS boys’ tennis team broke the 10 win mark. This was good enough for 3rd place in KAIAC during the regular season. The team was led by senior captains and 1st doubles team Andrew Park and Stephen Yoon. Both doubles teams were very strong during the season. The 2nd doubles team of newcomer Joon Lee and Eugene Lee had the best 2nd double record in KAIAC and made it to the finals of their bracket in the tournament, where they lost to SFS. Also, Ryan Park, who was the 6th seed in the first singles bracket, had an amazing tournament to get himself into the championship match. This marked the first time any YISS boy would be included in the all-tournament team. Ryan, Minho, and Charles continued to improve the strength of the singles. This year was also the year that the team defeated SFS. This win marked the first win against SFS in the history of the school in any varsity sport. The boys’ tennis team looked to continue to keep getting better.
