Season Summary
The 2024 Lady Guardian Soccer Team was composed of a very close-knit group of girls who seemed to love each other’s company while keeping their chins up despite some struggles scoring goals throughout the season. In the extreme heat of Bangkok in April, girls fared well enough at ACSC, finishing 5th among 8 teams. The team wound up 4th in KAIAC league and 5th in KAIAC Tournament.
The three captains, seniors Rachel Kim (All-KAIAC and ACSC, and team’s leading scorer) and Julianna Austin (KAIAC’s Best Keeper the past 2 seasons) along with junior Zoe Chung (All-KAIAC) were consistent leaders for a team that desperately needed them. Throughout the season, defense was the bread and butter of the team, anchored by junior and all-ACSC Avery Sohn and supported by seniors Marissa Myong, Tiffany Kang, Bonette Kim, and Sophie Park. There were also significant contributions made by some talented freshmen in Ludia Yoo, Eva Huang (All-Tournament), Hannah Kim, and Corinne Chon.
With 7 impactful seniors graduating from this team, next season’s girls have huge holes to fill. However, the 7 talented freshmen will help carry on the torch.
