Season Summary
The ’07 season was greatly anticipated with high expectations for the boys, as a majority of the team would be returning and the team would be strengthened with the addition of “Team Germany,” the Woehler brothers. The team was led by senior captain Eugene Lee, who was unable to play during the season due to injury. While in previous years, the team had done well during the season and struggled in the tournament, this year was different. The boys lost a double-header to TCIS, a team that they thought they should have beaten. This was a wake up call for the guys. They would finish in 5th place for the season with a record of 8-6, but they came into the tournament with a point to prove. The Guardians made an amazing run, led by the 2nd doubles team of Andrew Song and Abe Nelson, who won their bracket. This would mark the first time any YISS boys won a bracket in the KAIAC tournament. YIS also defeated SFS again this year during the regular season.
