Season Summary
The YISS varsity boys’ basketball team faced a grueling 23-24 season riddled with injuries. The team never had a full 12 man roster active for any game the entire season. However, despite the challenges, the team was able to achieve success led by seniors Andrew Shin, David Lee, Luc Mercier, Ryan Suh, Matt Mercier, and Collin Kang. The team was able to find some success throughout the KAIAC conference season finishing in a tie for 3rd place. They went into the KAIAC Cup tournament as the fifth seed and finished the tournament in fifth place with back-to-back wins against Dwight and HHS.
Going into the ACSC tournament the team was still dealing with multiple injuries, but fought hard to finish the tournament in fourth place, with key wins against Morrison Academy and ICS-Bangkok in bracket play. Congratulations to Luc Mercier on earning KAIAC all-tournament honors and to Andrew Shin for earning KAIAC all-conference, ACSC all-tournament, and ACSC top scorer awards.
