Season Summary
This was definitely a season of growth. With eleven new players (most new to the sport itself) and such a short season, it became a balancing act of teaching the basics and establishing a brand new identity. The girls were all introduced to a new philosophy and formation of play. Many explained this contradicted the style of play in seasons past. The girls wrestled with the concept of building from the back, possessing to control the game, and using creativity in the final third to finish!
The girls did a lot of learning this season. The toughest lessons came during the ACSC and KAIAC tournaments. These girls were forced to face tons of obstacles at both tournaments from climate to injuries, which really prevented them from playing their best. They also faced teams who simply had more experience and mental toughness than they did. Thankfully, towards the end of the season, the girls finally began to trust each other and the coaches.
