2018-19

Season Summary

The YISS Boys and Girls cross country teams finished their season strong with a 3rd place KAIAC Championship place for the boys and 4th place for the girls. This team chose "Heart" for their team word for the season and they embraced that theme giving a "TR" - total release of themselves in both their practices and competitions. As a young team with over half being freshman runners they were led by their senior captains Roberto Hamar and Grace Parsons. They showed heart in overcoming many injuries and by bonding together as one team cheering on each runner to personal records for most everyone. In the end all the runners had a great season high lighted by All-Conference awards for Roberto Hamar, Francesco Hamar and Ariana Bates. All KAIAC Championship awards were earned by Roberto Hamar, Francesco Hamar, Timothy Park and Ariana Bates. Ariana Bates had the best KAIAC Championship finish in YISS Girls XC with a 4th place finish.

Our end of the season team awards went to Francesco Hamar and Ariana Bate for Most Valuable; Roberto Hamar and Maya Reed for Leadership; Sean Rhee and Mia Callahan for Guardian; Harrison Oh and Prachi Didwania for Spirit.
