Season Summary
The Girls’ Soccer season began with many question marks about how the team would replace the senior class and starting players from the previous year. The girls had eight returning players, a senior class new to HS soccer, and a group of new underclassmen. In the opening weeks, they knew they had enough pieces to put together a competitive team, and one of the goals for the team, like every year, was trying to figure out where the personnel would thrive, which combinations would work, and how they would work together. The girls remained positive despite some learning/growing pains early in pre-season. They grew each game, and put together some great performances.
Highlights from the season were the home game against SFS, the away game against SAHS, and the opening match at the ACSC tournament against FAITH. While the struggled with maturity and consistency, they were really able to string some performances together and finished the conference with a 6-game undefeated streak before heading into the tournaments. Ultimately, the fitness, stamina, and consistency were their downfall in tournaments. The future still looks bright, and the team should have some essential pieces returning next year with the blossoming freshman class and Soo and Dora leading the group their senior year.
