Good afternoon students & parents!
Fantastic to see you students yesterday. Your good vocal habits are beginning to pay off and you’re performing with expression! The only tips I have for you are:
Exaggerate your facial expressions & loosen up... even more!
Friday morning, arrive having spoken & sung already. This is truly a make or break deal!
Stay healthy. Drink water. Drink more. Keep up on your school work. Get enough sleep.
FRIDAY MORNING 7:20/7:30 AM BEFORE SCHOOL ON THE RISERS!
You need to come warmed up, and PUT EVERYTHING AWAY IN YOUR LOCKERS FIRST! Then hustle downstairs. We will be wearing regular school clothes for the assembly. If you’d like to add scarves, hats, mittens- totally ok! We’ll have very little time to address any last minute changes & details. I beg you not to be late Friday. This is our ONE rehearsal with Chorale for the opening. Again, please arrive early to put backpack & coats in lockers BEFORE reporting to the auditorium by 7:30. The all-school assembly starts at 8:30am sharp. Maybe even a tad earlier. Here is the full morning schedule:
7:20-7:30 Arrival/ everything to lockers
7:30 SOUND CHECK ON RISERS (w/ Chorale)
8:10 Bathroom & return to side hall
8:20 Everyone in start positions (Ensemble on risers)
8:30-9:15 ASSEMBLY
YOU OPEN, then exit. Return AS SOON AS you hear applause for “NORTH POLE ROCK & ROLL”! You will sing your songs,then exit back out the side, down the side gym HALL to join your classes in the back of the auditorium. Let all the 5th & 6th graders into the auditorium before you join the audience.
FRIDAY EVENING 6:30pm ARRIVAL DETAILS
6:30PM ENSEMBLE WARM UP/ Praise & Prayer in MUSIC ROOM
Auditorium Doors open (RR, JP, etc programs pls :O) )
7:00PM CONCERT Same flow as the assembly but add Hodie. You’ll start w/ me.
We are really in need of some PARENT HELP following the program for about 10 minutes. Please see blue notes below for descriptions & details, and let me know if you can assist :o) Thank you so very much for your consideration!
NEXT TUESDAY 12/12 WE PARTY DURING CLASS!
~ Thank you to the parents who have already volunteered to send in treats & eats. I think we could use a few more food options, please. Let me know!
~ I will have performance video for students & maybe some Christmas games as well :O)
~ This is will be our last class officially together. I have certainly enjoyed having y’all back together in Music. Looking forward to a fun spring musical as well. Hugs to y’all- I will always be a fan!

Thanks so much for helping make our concert a successful & enjoyable for our West Hills family. God bless you bunches for your time and effort! Here are the things we still need assistance with:
Two people after the concert to bring in chair racks to auditorium. Please then direct parents to stack them facing the same direction, “coupling” as tight as possible. Padded chairs (front row auction) are to be stacked against right wall by exit door.
Four more dads after concert to stack gray riser rectangular BOXES (not risers themselves) on the STAGE BACK PLATFORM, RIGHT SIDE, FORWARD TO EDGE (leaving approx 2 ft of platform behind). Gray triangle riser boxes are also to be stacked on back platform on forward edge, BUT ON THE LEFT (GYM) SIDE.
One or two people to wheel piano back to Music Room.
One person to retrieve the 2 Auction Parking Space signs (sandwich style) outside across from red doors, and bring them to Music Room.
One person to collect chair signs and extra programs and return to Music Room.
As needed Backstage assistants (extra curricular chaperones, props, etc). I need one STRONG 7/8 grade parent (non-Chorale) to briefly assist holding 7/8th Ens in hall while Chorale sings and get them back on stage :O)
