2-21-17 Rehearsal next Tuesday & Much More!

Good morning 5/6/7/8 Lion King parents!

Two important items on the agenda:

1. After School Rehearsal is next Tues, Feb. 28th! (5/6 Mandatory, 7/8 Encouraged)

2. Parent encouragement appreciated

Rehearsals are rolling along, step by step. Although we are right on schedule, there is still much to rehearse. I would really appreciate a full house of 5th & 6th graders next Tuesday afternoon. (7th & 8th graders are not required to be here, but oh so encouraged to join us!) Having more than our rushed recess or class time is so beneficial. Also, we will get to be in the auditorium for a bit. Thanks so much for making this once a month commitment (5/6) a priority.

Things are about to get real interesting as we move into the more visual parts of our performance. I’d appreciate your prayers specifically as we begin to make decisions configuring the production with so many students, building out the stage, sorting out blocking, choreography, costuming, makeup and props. More info on all of that and how you can help coming soon. May God be glorified not only in the final product, but in the whole process as well!

Lastly, please encourage your son or daughter to “do the work” (practicing lyrics & dances at home) as unto the Lord. Lyric sheets, pronunciation guides have been made available. As a group, we are at that scary point of knowing songs “well enough” to muddle through, but not near our performance standards. God is worthy of our very best efforts! Parents, your input into this process is vital. I appreciate your efforts in helping me communicate this to your budding superstars. We are at the point when we need to make the choice to be excellent. Our goal is to be our best for Him.

Thank you for allowing me to partner with you in the musical endeavors of your precious kids. They are fun & fabulous! After recent rehearsals I’m feeling feel refreshed, encouraged and even more excited for the weeks to come.

PS All students should now have “Hakuna Matata” & “Can You Feel the Love” memorized for tomorrow’s rehearsals during school (Wed).
