Greetings Ensemble families!
Here are the details regarding our week after conferences:
First, just the repeated dates & times for the week
Students, during the school day:
Wednesday Lunch break Rehearsal
Thursday Lunch break Rehearsal AND
Thursday Study Hall Rehearsal- 2:30-3:00 IN THE AUDITORIUM
PERFORMANCE: Thursday, Dec. 4th 5:55pm Call/ 6:00pm Washington Square (Sears)
Washington Square Performance Reminders I know many of you folks have done this multiple times, but just to refresh :o)
1. Students need to arrive dressed in festive red, black, gray, etc(coats to parent).
2. We will meet BEHIND the risers, in the corner, at 5:55pm in Sears court. Quite honestly, having students gather & hang out any sooner than 5 minutes beforehand creates a problem. Let’s not get in the way of shoppers and stores, as we want to be invited back. PLEASE NO PERFORMERS OR SIBLINGS ON THE RISERS AT ANY TIME, BEFORE OR AFTER THE PERFORMANCE. A few other notes from past experience: Please have siblings on the floor safely BEHIND the director music stand. Also, there is a merry-go-round in the courtyard area. Please keep our older students OFF it at all times. And I would greatly appreciate that distraction to be eliminated during our performance. Thanks so much for your help.
3. Please be careful not to create an exclusive "holy huddle", ignoring shoppers and passers-by. Greet strangers, start conversations. This is a community outreach event~ a gentle reminder that you will be able to see the Ensemble again the following week. Bottom line: Let’s represent Christ with dignity & common courtesy. Let the light of Christ be available for our community to witness as our students share.
4. If your student should be late, they may join the SIDE of the front rows, BETWEEN SONGS ONLY. Please help them calm themselves before scooting in. No worries!
5. We will perform at 6:00 sharp, after a brief photo op. We will finish with “Silent Night” and "O Come All Ye Faithful". Please join us singing this familiar carol & chorus. We will repeat the chorus "For He Alone is Worthy” as well. In the past, it has been simply awesome to hear kids & parents together worshiping our Lord and King in this public setting. May we represent our Lord Jesus with excellence & may He be glorified thru it all!
6. Students will then be released from the risers. Enjoy the mall. Wear those school colors proudly. Smile a lot. Tip well. Again, we represent not only WHCS, but our most worthy Lord Jesus. We GET to do this!
Opportunities to help:
1. Washington Square- Two parents needed to be my eagle eyes, to be on high alert, ready to swoop in if any of our kids need assistance, come off of the risers, etc.
2. WHCS Concert- Five dads needed to assist with tearing down risers.
3. Looking ahead: Finger desserts needed dessert bar on Wed, Dec. 17th
Performance pictures will be available on the music website, thanks to Curtis Farmer!
Please join me in prayer for our upcoming events. Have a wonderful week off and joyful Thanksgiving celebrations!
