9-3-14 Chorale This Year!

Good afternoon 5th & 6th grade families!

It is truly great to have your students back. The building is bursting with energy! I had a fun time catching up with your kids at lunch today and look forward to having them all in general music class over the next two days. The purpose of this email is to invite your students to participate in Crusader Chorale and give you the facts. Many of you have already checked out the website and even turned in registration forms- woo hoo for you & thank you!

Our premiere vocal performance group, Crusader Chorale, meets Sept-December, preparing to perform at WHCS and community concerts during the Christmas season. It continues to be our privilege and purpose to glorify God through song and movement. All committed 5th & 6th graders are welcome. We typically have 50-65% of our students taking advantage of this extra music group. Just the rehearsal facts:

*Girls meet Mondays at lunch recess (new day!)

*Boys meet Tuesdays at lunch recess (new day!)

*ONCE A MONTH after school (3:00-4:00 on specific Tuesdays)

*Yep- you got it: only once a month after school. That’s just four times!

*WHCS 5th & 6th grade team practices will not begin until 4:00 those days. Many students often participate in WHCS sports, Bands and Chorale at the same time.

Specific dates, detailed information, and registration forms are available on the WHCS Music website Crusader Chorale page (link below). Hard copy information and registration forms are also coming home this week. These dates include all rehearsals and performances, and very rarely change. There is a $50 one time fee to cover all the costs; including T-shirts, music, cds, parties, props, etc. Fall Chorale participants may participate in this year’s spring Musical with NO additional charge. Please return forms to the office or payment drop box.

Next spring we are presenting the musical, “Pirates!”. Participation this year is available to all 5th thru 8th graders. Fall Chorale members do not need to re-register and do not pay any additional fee. New participants registration will not take place until January, but all the dates for spring are also on the website (link below). There is an additional combined boys and girls Wednesday lunch rehearsal for the spring. “Pirates” will be presented in both the morning and evening of Wednesday, April 22, 2015.
