3-11-14 Step by Step!

Post date: Mar 11, 2014 11:16:0 PM

Greetings Chorale parents! Three items on the agenda for this afternoon:

1. After School Rehearsal is next Tuesday, March 18th, 3:00-4:00pm

2. Costumes- Basic Chorale Outfits

3. Morning only performance

Rehearsals are rolling along, step by step. There is much to rehearse, so we are stealing extra minutes here, there, and everywhere we can during school hours. As we dig deeper and each day passes, I can’t help but think, “CAUTION: Musical is closer than it appears”! Today we had a big moment in rehearsal. I was frankly so stunned at how good they sounded, I stopped, pulled out all the cd voices, and man! Our kids continued to rock it- clear lyrics and all! Friends, we are soooooo gonna have a show! The kids were beaming- even they were surprised and filled with excitement at their own sound. Yippee!

Having said that, I must say that our after school rehearsal next week is critical. Go here, go there, dance, dance, dance! We will finally have a chance to be on stage. And our time on stage is barely existent. We still have three huge production numbers to choreograph on our multi-level stage. Because the auditorium is not available for use during the school day, next Tuesday afternoon is the only hour on stage before “tech-ing” the show in April. Thank you for making this hour a priority. They will be out the door at 4:10, I promise!

Sara Golsan, Chorale parent extraordinaire, has most graciously taken on the project of costuming again this year. Both Sara and Music Instructional Assistant, Esther Godaert, have already spent much time planning and preparing for what lies ahead. Students will perform with black pants, black shoes, and their Chorale T-shirts. We will “embellish” from there. More specifics will come after break. Fyi, “SuperSwanson” has already begun work on the sound, the set and the lights. What a team effort! To God be the glory!

One last piece of information for you: Our Wednesday, April 23rd performance of “Broadway: The Beat Goes On!”, will be presented in the morning only. Feel free to make arrangements and gather your troops for our 8:30-9:10am show! This all-school event is one you won’t want your family and friends to miss!

Continue to keep us in your prayers. And please encourage your son or daughter to “do the work” (practicing lyrics & dances at home) as unto the Lord. He is worthy of our very best efforts! Blessings over the rest of your week!
