Good afternoon parents of 4th and 5th graders!
Two weeks ago, a large cast of 5th-6th-7th-8th graders presented our biggest musical production yet, “Aladdin!”. Since then, many of your children have been asking about Chorale and the Spring Musical for next year. Today at carpool, we revealed next year’s musical, “The Lion King!” Although club information will go out in the fall, I’d like to share with you what is planned.
CHORALE (FALL 2016) Limited to 5th & 6th graders only
Briefly, Chorale students rehearse during lunch recess once a week (Separately: Girls on Mondays/ Boys Wednesdays) and once a month after school. For those of you who like to plan ahead, I have posted the Fall 2016 Chorale Dates & Information on the website (link below). These dates include all rehearsals and performances, and very rarely change. Students often participate in WHCS sports, Bands and Chorale at the same time. Knowing our current 4th and 5th graders, I am looking forward to another smashing Christmas season with both these incoming and returning enthusiastic students!
The SPRING MUSICAL cast is made up of 5th & 6th graders, and the 7th/ 8th grade Music Elective Class (JAN-APRIL) Our 5th & 6th grade rehearsal schedule is during both Mon/Wed lunch recesses and once a month after school until April. April brings a couple more after school rehearsals for costuming, teching & dress rehearsal. Plans for “The Lion King”, an incredible musical extravaganza, are already underway! Registration will not be until December, but here are the dates to plan ahead.... way ahead! Again, I anticipate an exciting show with this group of students.
