5-21-18 Next Year Opportunities for 4th/5th!

Good morning parents of current 3rd and 4th graders!

I am so excited for the changes in the schedule next year and the positive impact they will have on music opportunities for your student! In April, a huge cast of 5th-8th graders presented a fun musical production of “Seussical.” Since then, many students have been asking about Chorale and the Spring Musical for next year. Although club information will not go out until the fall, I’d like to share with you what has already been planned.

CHORALE (FALL 2018) Now open to 4th & 5th Graders!

This is our premiere elementary performance group, and I am delighted to extend this opportunity to BOTH our 4th & 5th graders next Fall! Chorale students rehearse during lunch recess once a week (Girls on Mondays/Boys Thursdays) and once a month after school. For those of you who like to plan ahead, I have posted the Fall 2018 Chorale Dates & Information on the website (link below). These dates include all rehearsals and performances. It will be fun to add 4th graders who choose to participate in Chorale to our Christmas Concert! Never fear, they will also perform in our annual Patriotic Program! Students often participate in WHCS sports, Band and Chorale at the same time. Registration for Chorale will open in September. Knowing the majority of your amazing children, I am looking forward to a smashing Christmas season with these incoming enthusiastic performers!

The SPRING MUSICAL is also now an option for your 4th & 5th graders, joining the 6/7/8th grade Musical Elective part of the cast!

Our 4th & 5th grade rehearsal schedule is during Mon & most Thurs lunch recesses and once a month after school until April. April brings a couple more after school rehearsals for teaching the show, dress rehearsal, etc. Our specific show has yet to be determined, but everything else is set to go. Registration will not be until January 2109, but I wanted to give you the dates so you can plan ahead...way ahead! This coming year we will have two evening performances for our growing audience! There is also a possibility of a Monday morning outreach show. Again, I anticipate an another exciting show with this upcoming group of students.
