3-13-15 Important Pirate Information!

Post date: Mar 14, 2015 12:36:5 AM

Greetings Pirate parents! Three items on the agenda for this afternoon:

1. After School Rehearsal is next Tuesday, March 17th, 3:00-4:00pm

2. Costumes & Parent Help

3. Run Thru/ Dress Rehearsal extended Tuesday April 21st 3:00-4:30

Rehearsals are rolling along, step by step. There is much to rehearse, so we are stealing extra minutes here, there, and everywhere we can during school hours. As we dig deeper and each day passes, I can’t help but think, “CAUTION: Musical is closer than it appears”! LOL!

Having said that, I must say that our after school rehearsal next week is critical. Go here, go there, dance, dance, dance! We will finally have a chance to be on stage. And our time on stage is barely existent. Because the auditorium is not available for use during the school day, next Tuesday afternoon is the only hour on stage before “tech-ing” the show in April. Thank you for making this hour a priority. They will be out the door moments after 4:00, I promise!

Sara Golsan, Chorale parent extraordinaire, has most graciously taken on the project of costuming again. Music Instructional Assistant, Esther Godaert, and parent helper Janet Choi have also spent much time planning together, preparing, and sewing for what lies ahead. Generally speaking, you and your student have great freedom in coming up with easy, individual pirate costumes. We will be helping; giving out costume parts & accessories after break for you to borrow. Details and ideas are coming to you next week. Fyi, “Super-Swanson” has already begun work on the sound, the ship, and the lights. What a team effort! To God be the glory!

Speaking of team efforts (hint, hint), I will be asking for some help from parent volunteers soon. Details & sign-ups coming, but be thinking..... locker tag team, lunch cast party set-up & clean up, morning & evening dressing room supervisors, etc. Thanks ahead of time for your consideration.

Lastly, I have extended our dress rehearsal on Tuesday, April 21st an extra 30 minutes, until 4:30. This extra half hour will allow for a costume check, a real dress rehearsal, and our portraits being taken. Thank you Mr. Farmer!

Please continue to keep us in your prayers. And encourage your son or daughter to “do the work” (practicing lines, lyrics & dances at home) as unto the Lord. He is worthy of our very best efforts!

Blessings over your weekend!
