1-27-17 Up & Running!

Good morning LION KING families!

We’ve had a great full week with our 96 member cast of the Lion King! It’s going to be quite an adventure. Today I have a few general reminders as we move forward.

Weekly Rehearsals are twice a week for each student, Mon and Wed:

5th & 6th @ lunch recesses

7th & 8th during electives

*Any changes or additional during-the-school-day times will be posted on the whiteboard outside of the music room, on the front board in the music room, and emailed to 5/6 teachers and 7/8th student emails.

After School Rehearsals are once a month, 3:05-5:00pm (7/8 join these in March)

0ur FIRST 5/6 AFTER SCHOOL REHEARSAL is next Tuesday, January 31, from 3:05-:00. Students will be released at the north side of the building, carpool style, at 5:00pm sharp. Please hold those name signs high & come along the curb up to the steps. I will NOT be releasing students to other areas in the building OR releasing them to walk across the parking lot to cars because of safety & traffic issues. If you prefer, please park your car and walk over to us, then escort your cast member back to your vehicle. Thanks for your kind consideration in picking them up in a safe manner and on time. Students remaining after 5:15 will be checked into after school care. As basketball season is in full swing, a gentle reminder that students are not to wait around, watch basketball games, hang out, etc., without parent supervision. If your student is heading to 5pm practice or will be under another parent’s supervision, I would appreciate knowing before 2:00. Your students safety is my concern. Thanks for helping me keep our kids safe and accounted for!

OTHER TIDBITS:

*We will be asking for parent help with costumes, scenery, cast party, and performance day supervision. Details to come!

*I encourage the BRIEF BUT OFTEN use of the cds and lyric sheets for all cast members. Lyrics, pronunciation guides are available on the website, and hard copies are available at school.
