Good afternoon Dalmatian families!

In case you haven’t heard, our adventure is packed with 88 members in the cast! Rehearsals are rolling along for all grade levels during elective classes and during lunch recess. I’m so delighted every time they open their mouths to sing. Their efforts are already paying off and this is going to be a very fun show! Today I have quite a bit of general information as our adventure begins, then separate specifics for both our 6/7/8 and 4/5 families.

Many show features and choreography begin to unfold over the next few weeks. Every rehearsal is important in our process. Please encourage your budding performers that we are one cast, all in, for HIm! As director, I would appreciate your prayers for clarity, creativity, direction and wisdom, during this early “big picture decisions” part of our journey. Thank you so much! HERE again is our all important schedule.

There are and will be ample opportunities for parent help and participation. You’ll be hearing from our production team soon. Want to be in charge of something and on that team? Let me know asap. Information regarding costumes, sets, props, and all other production matters on stage, back stage, pre & post program supervision, make-up, publicity, cast party, etc will be coming. If one of these areas already jumps out at you, floats your boat, and you want in early on in the planning stages, please contact me ASAP. Karen Fruehauf is our fabulous snack co-ordinator and is ready to roll! Please sign up HERE to contribute snacks for our after school rehearsals. Thank you, Karen and contributing parents!

The WHCS Music Website MUSICAL PAGE ( HERE) contains dates, info and ongoing news for our production. There are also lyrics sheets posted there for your student’s practice at home. Please subscribe to the Spring Musical UPDATES! You can do so at the top of this post.

6/7/8 Family Specifics (4/5 SEE BELOW)

    1. Please remember that the after school rehearsals March 17, April 7, 14, 21 & 23 are MANDATORY. However, your MS student is totally welcome to attend our Jan 28 & Feb 25, 3:05-5:00 rehearsals! We would love to have our 6/7/8 families step up for after school snacks HERE.

    2. Please encourage your student performer to stay current on school assignments. I will spare you my former high school director speech. But this is, and will continue to be a big issue, now and in the future. The Donut Day challenge is on every week of this term. No 6/7/8 cast member on the missing assignment list = donuts Friday mornings!

    3. Each cast member has music to learn and they have been emailed the mp3 trax (thanks, Mr. Choi!) and/or given cds. Lyric sheets are available on the website HERE. Just a question or reminder from parents might spur on some extra practice at home. Thank you so much! Our goal is excellence before the Lord in all we do!

4/5 Families

    1. NEXT TUESDAY, January 28th, 3:05-5:00pm is our first monthly and MANDATORY after school rehearsal. These hours are so crucial to our momentum & development. Recess is simply not enough time. Thanks for your commitment to this process that will benefit your child! Former Chorale members, please note that we now rehearse until 5:00pm. Pick up will be on the track.

    2. I’d appreciate any homefront push you can give your child in “doing the work” memorizing lyrics & learning songs. Our 4/5 cast members actually have the most songs to learn. Excellence as unto the Lord continues to be our goal! Printed lyrics will come home periodically, but many are already posted on the website HERE. Please encourage the use of these mp3 trax & cds, my friends! If your child needs a cd, send them to me asap.

    3. A gentle reminder that your accounts have been charged the musical fee: $60 (Fall Chorale returnees) or $75 (new members).

Again, I truly appreciate your prayers during this big adventure ahead. May we glorify God with excellence in both rehearsals and the show!

For Him who holds the future and each of our precious cast members~
