Good afternoon SEUSSICAL families!
In case you haven’t heard, our whimsical adventure is packed with 82 members in the cast! Rehearsals are rolling along for all grade levels during elective classes and during lunch recesses. I’m so delighted every time they open their mouths to sing. Their efforts are already paying off! This is going to be a really, really fun and upbeat show! Today I have a few general reminders, then separate specifics for our 7/8 families and 5/6 families.
Many show parts, features and choreography begin to unfold over the next few weeks. Every rehearsal is important in our process. Please encourage your budding performers that we are one cast, all in, for HIm! As director, I would appreciate your prayers for clarity, direction and wisdom, during this early “big picture decisions” part of our journey. Thank you so much!
There will be ample opportunities for parent help and participation. You’ll be hearing from our hard working production team soon. Information regarding costumes, sets, props, and all other production matters on stage, back stage, pre & post program supervision, publicity, cast party, etc., will come. We need each other! If one of these areas already JUMPS at you, floats your boat, and you want in early on in the planning stages, please contact me asap.
The WHCS Music Website MUSICAL PAGE ( HERE) contains dates, info and ongoing news for our production. There are lyrics sheets posted for your students practice at home. Oh! Please subscribe to the Spring Musical UPDATES! You can do this at the top of this post :)
7th & 8th grade families- (5/6 SEE BELOW)
*Please remember that the after school rehearsals March 20, April 10, 17, 24 & 26 are MANDATORY. However, your Jr Higher is totally welcome to attend our Jan 30 & Feb 27, 3:05-5:00 rehearsals if desired.
*Please encourage your student performer to stay current on other school assignments. I will spare you my speech. This is, and will continue to be a big issue, now and as they move into high school.
*Each cast member has a big load of music to learn. They have cds. Google Docs have been shared. Printed lyric sheets have been given out. Just a question or reminder from mom might spur on some extra practice at home (thank you)! Our goal is excellence before the Lord in all we do!
5th & 6th grade families
*TUESDAY, January 30th, 3:05-5:00pm is our first monthly and MANDATORY after school rehearsal. These hours are so crucial to our momentum & development. Thanks for your commitment to this process that will benefit your child!
*I’d appreciate any homefront push you can give your child in “doing the work” memorizing lyrics & learning songs. We are currently focusing on the big all-cast numbers, as well as songs just for girls and just for guys. Excellence as unto the Lord continues to be our goal!
*Please encourage the use of those cds, my friends! If your child needs one, send them to me asap!
Again, I truly appreciate your prayers during this big adventure ahead. May we glorify God with excellence in both rehearsals and the show! Have a wonderful weekend!
