În tradiţiile timpurii, trandafirii albi erau folosiţi ca un simbol de dragoste adevărată, o asociere care a devenit mai târziu semnul distinctiv al trandafirului roşu. In early traditions, white roses were used as a symbol of true love, an association that later became the hallmark of the red rose. Also, known as the bride's rose, the white rose has become the classic wedding flower, especially because white represents unity, virtue and purity.
